Is an All-Inclusive Surf Camp in Morocco worth it? Costs, inclusions and who it suits

i 3 Table Of Content

If you are planning a surf trip to Morocco, you will quickly notice two very different ways to organise it. You can book your accommodation, surf lessons, board rental, meals and transport separately. Or you can choose an all-inclusive surf camp package and have most of the week organised for you.

At first glance, the second option can look more expensive. But comparing only the accommodation price misses most of what you are actually paying for.

The real question is:

Will you use enough of the included services to make the package worthwhile?

For some travellers, absolutely.

For others, booking independently may make much more sense.

An all-inclusive surf camp in Morocco is often worth it if you plan to surf most days, need coaching or equipment, and want accommodation, meals and transport organised for you. It can offer particularly good value for beginners, solo travellers and first-time visitors. However, independent travel may be cheaper or more flexible if you already surf confidently, have your own equipment, want to eat out every day or only plan to surf occasionally. Most importantly, “all-inclusive” does not mean exactly the same thing at every surf camp, so compare the actual inclusions rather than the headline price.

What does “All-Inclusive Surf Camp” actually mean?

This is the first thing to understand before comparing prices.

There is no single standard definition of an all-inclusive surf camp.

One camp may include accommodation, three meals per day, daily lessons and airport transfers. Another may call its package all-inclusive while offering breakfast and dinner, five coached sessions, equipment and transport to the surf spot.

Yoga may be included in one package and optional in another.

Airport transfers might be included both ways, only on arrival or not at all.

Current Morocco surf-camp offers demonstrate how much the inclusions can vary between operators.

Before comparing two prices, check each of these:

InclusionWhat to check
AccommodationNumber of nights and room type
Surf coachingNumber and duration of coached sessions
Free surfWhether additional independent or supervised practice is available
Surfboard & wetsuitWhether equipment is included and for how long
Surf transportWhether the camp takes you to different spots according to conditions
BreakfastWhether it is included every day
LunchIncluded at some camps, excluded at others
DinnerCheck how many evenings are covered
YogaIncluded, optional or only available in certain packages
Airport transferCheck whether arrival, departure, both or neither are included
Extra activitiesSurfskate, excursions, hammam and other extras vary considerably

The important rule is simple:

Never compare two “all-inclusive” prices without comparing what is actually included.

How much does an all-inclusive surf camp in Morocco cost in 2026?

Prices vary considerably according to the type of accommodation, number of surf sessions, meals, group size, season and overall standard of the camp.

Current 2026 guides for the Tamraght and Taghazout area put week-long surf-camp packages across a broad range, from roughly €315–€450 at the lower end, through approximately €450–€700 for many mid-range packages, and upwards of €700–€1,200+ for more premium retreat-style experiences.

A useful rough comparison is:

Type of stayApproximate weekly priceWhat you may find
Budget surf camp~€315-€450Shared accommodation and a simpler package structure
Mid-range all-inclusive surf camp~€450-€700Coaching, equipment, meals, accommodation and surf transport
Premium surf retreat / hotel~€700-€1,200+Higher-end accommodation and/or additional services and activities

These are broad 2026 market ranges, not fixed prices.

A €650 package is not automatically better than a €450 package.

And a €450 package is not automatically better value.

The question is what you receive for the price; and whether you actually want those things.

Is an all-inclusive surf camp cheaper than booking everything separately?

Sometimes, but not always.

This is where the value comparison becomes interesting.

If you organise your own surf holiday, you may need to pay separately for:

  • Accommodation
  • Surf lessons
  • Board rental
  • Wetsuit rental
  • Transport to surf spots
  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner
  • Airport transport
  • Activities

Current 2026 local guides put group surf lessons in the Tamraght area around €25-€45 per session, while board and wetsuit rental can be around €10-€20 per day, depending on the provider and equipment.

If you want daily coached sessions during your trip, surf equipment throughout the week and transport to whichever beach suits the conditions, those costs start adding up before you have even paid for your bed or food.

But consider a different traveller.

They already surf independently. They stay in a cheap guesthouse. They bring their own board. They eat at inexpensive local restaurants. They know where and when they want to surf.

For that person, an all-inclusive package could cost more than organising the trip themselves.

So the most useful rule is:

An all-inclusive package offers its strongest financial value when you would otherwise pay separately for most of the services it includes.

All-inclusive surf camp vs Independent surf trip

Price is only part of the comparison.

Neither is inherently better.

They are simply different ways to travel.

What are you really paying for at a Surf Camp?

Accommodation is the obvious part.

But particularly for beginners, it may not be the most valuable part.

Imagine waking up in Tamraght and wanting to surf.

You still need to answer:

Where should I surf today?

Are the conditions suitable for my level?

What is the tide doing?

How do I get there?

Which board should I use?

Do I need a lesson or should I practise independently?

A good surf-camp package removes much of that decision-making.

The surf spot can change depending on:

  • Swell
  • Wind
  • Tide
  • Wave size
  • Surf level
  • Group ability

This matters around Tamraght and Taghazout because you are not booking access to one single wave.

You are staying in an area with multiple surf spots that work differently depending on the day.

The ability to move to a more appropriate spot can be considerably more useful than simply staying as close as possible to one beach.

Is an all-inclusive surf camp worth it for Beginners?

For complete beginners, this is probably one of the strongest cases for choosing a surf-camp package.

A beginner typically needs more than a board.

You may need:

  • Coaching
  • Suitable equipment
  • Beginner-appropriate conditions
  • Help choosing a surf spot
  • Transport
  • Repetition
  • Feedback
  • Time to practise

Booking one isolated lesson can be great if you simply want to try surfing.

But if your goal is to make meaningful progress during a week, several coached sessions combined with additional practice create a much more structured learning experience.

We cover that question in detail in our guide to how many surf lessons a beginner needs.

The important point is that you are not paying only for five surf lessons.

You are paying for the system around those lessons.

Is an all-inclusive surf camp worth it for Solo travellers?

Often, yes; and not only because of the price.

Travelling independently can be wonderful, but meeting people requires more effort when your accommodation, meals and activities are all separate.

A surf camp naturally brings people together through:

  • Surf sessions
  • Transport
  • Breakfast
  • Dinner
  • Communal spaces
  • Free time
  • Shared experiences in the water

That structure can be especially valuable when you arrive alone.

And importantly:

A social surf camp does not have to be a party camp.

If you want a relaxed environment rather than nightlife every evening, check the camp's atmosphere before booking!

You can also choose a private room without necessarily giving up the social side of the experience.

For more on this, read our guide to choosing a surf camp in Morocco as a solo traveller.

Is an all-inclusive surf camp worth it for Intermediate surfers?

This depends much more on the package.

An intermediate surfer should not assume that every package advertising itself as suitable for “all levels” will provide useful coaching.

Check:

  • How surfers are divided by ability
  • Whether coaching adapts to your level
  • Whether the camp moves between surf spots
  • Whether you can free surf
  • Whether suitable boards are available
  • Whether surf guiding is available instead of beginner lessons

If you can already catch unbroken waves independently, spending five days repeating beginner whitewater lessons would obviously provide poor value.

But good local coaching, spot selection and transport can still be extremely useful.

For more independent surfers, surf guiding may provide better value than a traditional beginner package.

Is it worth it for Couples or Friends?

If both people want to surf, an all-inclusive package can work very well.

You share the overall experience while avoiding the need to organise every day separately.

It becomes less obvious when only one person wants to surf.

For example:

One person wants five surf lessons.

The other wants two yoga sessions, a massage, cafés and plenty of free time.

In that situation, paying for two identical all-inclusive surf packages may not make sense.

A custom stay can be better.

At The Happy Surfers, for example, you can build your stay by choosing the room, meals, number of surf days and yoga sessions you actually want rather than automatically taking a full package.

When an all-inclusive surf camp may not be worth it

An all-inclusive package is probably not the best choice for everyone.

You might prefer travelling independently if:

  • You want complete control over every day
  • You already surf confidently without coaching
  • You have your own equipment
  • You plan to surf only once or twice
  • You want to eat at different restaurants every day
  • You are staying for several weeks or months
  • You are travelling extensively around Morocco
  • You dislike structured group activities
  • Most of the package inclusions do not interest you

This is the key:

The best package is not the one with the longest inclusion list. It is the one that includes the things you would actually use.

If you are unsure whether you want a structured surf week at all, our guide to choosing the right surf retreat in Morocco goes deeper into the different styles of stay.

What might not be included in an “All-Inclusive” Surf Camp?

“All-inclusive” usually describes the core surf-camp experience.

It does not necessarily mean you can arrive in Morocco without spending another dirham.

Depending on the camp, you may still need to budget for:

  • Flights
  • Travel insurance
  • Lunch
  • Return airport transfer
  • Private surf lessons
  • Surfskate session
  • Massages or hammam
  • Excursions
  • Restaurant meals
  • Souvenirs
  • Drinks or snacks outside the camp
  • Optional activities

Again, packages vary.

That is why it is worth checking exactly what is and is not included before you compare prices.

What about airport transfers?

Airport transport is a perfect example of why the details matter.

One surf camp may include:

arrival + departure transfer

Another:

arrival only

Another:

neither

At The Happy Surfers, guests booking a 7-night surf package receive their arrival transfer from Agadir Airport for free.

The return transfer is separate.

For shorter stays or other booking types, airport transfers can also be arranged separately.

If you are comparing airport options yourself, our guide to getting from Agadir Airport to Tamraght compares private transfers, taxis and public transport.

How to compare two surf camp packages properly

Suppose Camp A costs €500.

Camp B costs €600.

Camp A looks cheaper.

But then you discover that Camp A charges separately for equipment, some meals and transport to different surf spots.

Camp B includes them.

Suddenly the €100 difference means something very different.

The reverse can also happen.

Camp B includes yoga, excursions and activities that you do not want.

Then paying more simply because the inclusion list is longer provides no extra value to you.

Before booking, compare these ten things:

1. Number of nights

A “week” does not always mean exactly the same number of nights.

2. Room type

Dormitory, triple, twin and private rooms can create large price differences.

Make sure you are comparing equivalent room types, and see the pictures.

3. Number of coached surf sessions

“Daily surfing” does not necessarily mean “daily surf lessons”.

Check exactly how much coaching is included.

4. Free-surf opportunities

Can you continue practising after the coached session?

Is the equipment still available?

5. Surf equipment

Check whether the surfboard and wetsuit are included.

And whether you can use them only during lessons or throughout your surf sessions.

6. Surf transport

Does the camp drive you to the surf spot selected for the day's conditions?

Or are you responsible for transport yourself?

7. Meals

Check breakfast, lunch and dinner separately.

Do not assume “meals included” means three meals every day. Check what “lunch” actually includes, as some camps provide a packed or light beach lunch rather than a full meal.

8. Airport Transfers

Check arrival and departure individually.

9. Coaching level and group structure

A cheap lesson provides little value if the coaching is inappropriate for your ability.

10. Optional costs

Ask what you might reasonably pay extra for during the week.

The headline number matters.

But the final cost and experience matter more.

Shared Moroccan breakfast at The Happy Surfers surf camp

What is included in an all-inclusive week at The Happy Surfers?

The Happy Surfers is a small surf and yoga camp in Tamraght with a maximum of 18 guests.

Our aim is to offer the convenience of a surf-camp package while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and personal rather than turning every hour of your holiday into an organised activity.

  • 6 coached surf lessons
  • 6 additional free-surf opportunities
  • Surfboard and wetsuit
  • Daily transport to the selected surf spot
  • Surf theory
  • Surfskate
  • Breakfast every day
  • Dinner every day
  • Tea, coffee and water
  • High-speed WiFi

Surf & Yoga Package

The Surf & Yoga package includes the same core surf experience plus:

  • 6 yoga classes during the week

Current prices start at approximately €595 per person in shared accommodation, depending on room choice.

What is not included?

To be completely clear:

Lunch is not included in our standard Surf or Surf & Yoga packages.

This is a deliberate choice. Because our surf spot changes according to the conditions and we often spend the middle of the day at the beach, we prefer not to promise a full lunch that we cannot serve at the same quality as the meals prepared at the surf house.

Instead, we serve a generous breakfast before surfing, and guests are welcome to prepare something to take with them from breakfast if they would like a snack or light lunch at the beach.

You are also free to use lunchtime to try one of the local cafés or restaurants when the day's schedule allows.

The return journey to Agadir Airport is also not automatically included.

Activities such as hammam, massage and excursions may be added separately.

We prefer making those distinctions clear because an “all-inclusive” surf camp should be easy to understand before you book, not something you only understand after you arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is usually included in an all-inclusive surf camp in Morocco?

Most packages combine accommodation, surf coaching, surf equipment and some meals. Surf transport is also common. However, yoga, lunch, airport transfers, excursions and additional activities vary considerably between camps.

Always check the actual inclusion list.

How much does a surf camp in Morocco cost for one week?

Current 2026 prices around Tamraght and Taghazout span a broad range. Budget packages can start around €315-€450 per week, many mid-range all-inclusive options fall around €450-€700, and more premium retreats can cost €700-€1,200 or more depending on accommodation and inclusions.

Is a Morocco surf camp cheaper than booking everything separately?

It can be, particularly if you need accommodation, several surf lessons, equipment, surf transport and meals.

If you already surf independently, bring your own equipment and prefer inexpensive accommodation, organising the trip yourself may cost less.

Are surf lessons included in all-inclusive packages?

Usually, but the number of coached sessions varies.

Check whether “daily surfing” means an actual coached lesson, surf guiding or simply access to equipment.

Is surf equipment Included?

It often is, but verify whether the board and wetsuit are available throughout the stay or only during organised surf sessions.

Are meals included at surf camps in Morocco?

Usually at least some meals are included, but this varies considerably.

Some camps offer full board.

Others offer breakfast and dinner.

At The Happy Surfers, our standard surf packages include breakfast and dinner every day, but not lunch.

Are airport transfers included?

It depends on the camp.

At The Happy Surfers, arrival transfer from Agadir Airport is free for guests booking a seven-night surf package. Return transport can be arranged separately.

Is an all-inclusive surf camp good for complete beginners?

Yes, it can be particularly convenient for beginners because coaching, equipment, transportation and suitable surf spots are organised as part of the experience.

You do not need previous surf experience to join a beginner-friendly camp.

Is an all-inclusive surf camp worth it for solo travellers?

Often, yes.

Beyond the practical value, surf sessions, meals and communal areas create natural opportunities to meet people without needing to organise social activities yourself.

Do I need an all-inclusive package if I already know how to surf?

Not necessarily.

If you already surf independently, consider whether you actually need lessons. A surf-guiding package, accommodation-only stay or independent trip may offer better value.

How much spending money do I need on top of an all-Inclusive surf camp?

That depends heavily on what your package includes and what you want to do outside it.

Potential expenses include lunch, cafés, restaurant meals, excursions, massages, souvenirs, airport transport, drinks and other personal spending.

Check the package inclusions first, then build your extra budget around what is missing.

Is Surf & Yoga worth paying extra for?

It depends on whether you genuinely want yoga.

If you would otherwise book yoga classes separately, combining the two can be convenient and good value.

If you have no interest in yoga, choose a surf-only package rather than paying for an inclusion you will not use.

Final verdict: Is an All-Inclusive Surf Camp in Morocco worth it?

For the right traveller, yes.

But not simply because the words “all-inclusive” appear on the booking page.

An all-inclusive surf camp offers the most value when you would otherwise need to organise most of the included services yourself.

For a beginner, that might mean:

Accommodation + coaching + board + wetsuit + surf transport + meals + practice opportunities.

For a solo traveller, there is also the value of arriving somewhere with a ready-made social environment.

For a first-time visitor, there is the convenience of not having to work out where to surf, how to get there or where to find equipment every day.

But if you are already an independent surfer, want complete flexibility and have little interest in organised meals or activities, paying for a large package may not make sense.

So don't ask only:

“Which surf camp is cheapest?”

Ask:

“Which package includes the things I would otherwise need; and leaves out the things I don't want?”

That is a much better way to judge value.

At The Happy Surfers, our seven-night packages combine accommodation, six coached surf lessons, six additional free-surf opportunities, equipment, daily surf transport, breakfast and dinner, with a free Agadir Airport arrival transfer for seven-night surf-package guests.

And if a full package does not suit the way you want to travel, you can also build a more flexible stay.
