Four years ago, I had an amazing experience with Happy Surfers during a yoga and surf retreat. As a girl traveling alone to Morocco and trying surfing for the first time, I always felt safe, welcome, and part of a family. It's a feeling that's hard to put into words. I’ve just got home from a week at The Happy Surfers (get me back already 😭). I went as a solo traveller, and with next to no surfing experience. As soon as I arrived I was made to feel so at home, and welcomed with huge smiles and delicious homemade food, which lasted the entire trip. The surf lessons themselves were personal and run in a way to benefit me rather than a generic teaching style which is so important when learning new skills, and every little win was always celebrated 🤩 The staff were more than happy to help every hour of the day, taking me to places only the locals know, and they really made me feel like a friend rather than a guest. The sunsets on the terrace were next level, with views over the whole of Tamraght, so a perfect place to spend mornings and evenings relaxing and embracing the culture. The yoga lessons on the terrace every day were so relaxing and tied the trip all together perfectly. The rooms and chill spaces were always clean and well maintained too. I booked these guys for a vacation with my boyfriend in March, and it was such a great experience. My boyfriend and I are at quite a different level on our surfing journey, and they were so accommodating in making sure we both got what we wanted from the surf classes. They run small group classes- unlike most of the similar camps, some days we were just the two of us, and one day I was alone. They genuinely care and listen, and want you to be progressing within your comfort level. I will definitely be coming back to stay next year. The daily surf sessions were amazing with great coaches. The whole team at The Happy Surfers was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling.
